Al-Ma'un

The Small kindnesses7 Versesmakkah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

✦

107:1

أَرَءَيۡتَ

Have you seen

ٱلَّذِى

the one who

يُكَذِّبُ

denies

بِٱلدِّينِ

the Judgment

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

107:2

فَذٰلِكَ

Then that

ٱلَّذِى

(is) the one who

يَدُعُّ

repulses

ٱلۡيَتِيمَ

the orphan

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

107:3

وَلَا

And (does) not

يَحُضُّ

feel the urge

عَلَىٰ

طَعَامِ

feed

ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ

the poor

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

107:4

فَوَيۡلٌ

So woe

لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ

to those who pray

So woe to those who pray

107:5

ٱلَّذِينَ

Those who

هُمۡ

[they]

عَن

about

صَلَاتِهِمۡ

their prayers

سَاهُونَ

(are) neglectful

[But] who are heedless of their prayer¹ -

107:6

ٱلَّذِينَ

Those who

هُمۡ

[they]

يُرَآءُونَ

make show

Those who make show [of their deeds]

107:7

وَيَمۡنَعُونَ

And they deny

ٱلۡمَاعُونَ

[the] small kindnesses

And withhold [simple] assistance.
